THIS is the mental health disaster I’ve been writing about for 20 years
The chickens have come home to roost; Gen Z is good at only one thing
Psychiatrist.com reports on a survey. I’ll give you the stunning quotes, and then comment.
“The younger generation has powered through a lot of upheaval in their short lives but it’s taken a toll on their mental health. A new survey finds that an astounding 42 percent of those born between 1990 and 2010—Gen Z—have been diagnosed with a mental health condition.”
“Digital natives, as they are also sometimes labeled, report feeling comfortable talking about their personal struggles with someone else, especially their friends, siblings, and parents…One in five are in therapy. Nearly 60 percent are on some sort of medication to help manage mental health.”
“Despite so many wrestling with psychological challenges, 79 percent of Gen Z believe their age group is best at addressing mental health; 82% of Gen Z feel Baby Boomers (aged 55-64) are the worst at talking about mental health…”
WE’RE THE BEST AT TALKING ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH. Well, isn’t that special. This is a skill that will stand you in good stead all your lives as you circle the drain and disappear.
“Well, son, so you want to join the Navy. We’ll take anybody. Any prior training I should know about?”
“Yes, sir. I’m highly skilled at talking about my mental problems.”
“Wonderful. You’ll fit right in.”
Nearly 60% of Gen Z are on psychiatric drugs. 42% have been diagnosed with a mental health condition. How did the other 18% get the drugs? Don’t ask me, I’m just the messenger. But regardless, those numbers are more than disturbing.
We’re talking about speed-type drugs for ADHD, which any addict can tell you lead to speed crashes. We’re talking about SSRIs for clinical depression. Those drugs cause cycles of mania and depression—and also violent behavior, including suicide and murder. And then there are the wonderful major tranquilizers, which cause motor brain damage.
Of course, there are no defining physical diagnostic tests for ANY so-called mental disorder. Committees of psychiatrists simply cluster together behaviors and slap labels on them arbitrarily.
Gen Z is certainly leading the way to Psychiatric Nation.
