No Negative Control or Positive Control. Should be, "pipetted 50 μL of serum-free DMEM into columns 1, and 3–12 of a 96-well tissue culture plate, then pipetted 100 μL of clinical specimens into column 2 and serially diluted 2-fold across columns 2-11, with column 12 receiving no specimen, only serum-free DMEM, hence a negative control, and column 1, a positive control, a known virus. However, as they have no "known virus control," this experiment has neither a negative or positive control- trash.
