As I recently pointed out after dredging up the original meaning of the 1st Amendment, free speech isn’t a right, it’s a territory, and the stronger force in the battle wins. The stronger force owns free speech. That’s what the Founders intended, but failed to spell out.
Of course.
Therefore, in order to know who to cancel and ban in this war, we have to know where persons of interest stand. Are they on the Right or the Left? Are they friend or enemy?
The worst people are the ones who don’t clearly define themselves---like Greenwald and Taibbi. Instead, they SPREAD CONFUSION.
Greenwald. When he helped Ed Snowden expose the predatory Surveillance State, he was writing for The Guardian, a Left newspaper. Fine. So the attack on the NSA must have been coming from the Left. Right?
But now, the man is writing all sorts of…I don’t know what to call it. He’s accusing the (Left) Biden administration and major (Left) media of propagating massive disinformation.
This is worrisome, upsetting, and confounding. Unless Greenwald makes it perfectly clear which end of the spectrum he sits on, he’s AMBIGUOUS. Is he trying to own free speech for the Left or the Right? We don’t know. And so we don’t know whether we should cancel him. Hence, we MUST cancel him. The logic is vivid on that point.
On to Taibbi. We all recall his groundbreaking Rolling Stone piece on Goldman Sachs. It was a classic attack on big corporate money coming from the Left. Yes?
But recently he was demolishing Trudeau for his handling of the trucker convoy crisis. And now he’s going after government regulators in California. How can Taibbi be doing that from the Left?
It’s another case of MUDDLE. Where is Taibbi? We have to know, in order to decide what we think of him…and whether to ban him. Otherwise, the 1st Amendment doesn’t apply. And it must.
By contrast, an excellent model is David Horowitz. In the 1960s, he was a rabid Leftist radical. Then, suddenly, he abandoned those principles and swung all the way to the Right. And he ANNOUNCED his switch. He’s been writing about his reasons for switching ever since.
This is good. It’s exemplary. If we’re on the Right, we champion David. If we’re on the Left, we do our best to ban and cancel him.
Again, this is what the 1st Amendment is all about.
I can’t believe I have to make this point. How can such ignorance have spread so far?
Even in war, a certain standard of etiquette and sense of propriety apply. Remember when Jane Fonda told the press she was a Communist? She was essentially saying, “Now you know whether you want to cancel me or embrace me, depending on your political position.” She had the decency to clarify the 1st Amendment vis-à-vis her own case.
Free speech means nothing, unless we know whose free speech to destroy.
An old friend at the NSA is trying to discern Greenwald’s and Taibbi’s voting records in past elections. If he comes through with the goods, I’ll let you know.
This is how the issue of free speech and privacy intertwine. Privacy must be sacrificed on the altar of vital knowledge.
As the Founders knew, the power of free speech is determined by what comes out of the barrel of a gun.
Former FOX reporter, Carl Cameron, an authentic American hero, recently commented on MSNBC: “…we got to watch out because the Republicans have become the purveyors of misinformation, and when our two-party system is broken like that, democracy is seriously in trouble. The president acknowledged that it's time to actually start doing things and maybe taking some names and putting people in jail."
In jail.
All hail, Carl. You’ve fathomed the true meaning of the 1st Amendment. These are the times that try men’s souls. Your country needs you. Desperately.
Dear Reader, help me raise $10000000000000000 so I can put together a Twitter bot army and wipe out those sons of bitches, Greenwald and Taibbi.

We must cancel Glenn Greenwald and Matt Taibbi; here’s why
Truly deeply disappointed by this piece... the whole thing is a shit show... left and right! As Frank Zappa once said... "politics is the theatre division of the military industrial complex"... when both sides of the political spectrum have been captured, then it's time to jettison the whole fooking lot! But, whilst we live in a dualistic world, there has to be sides. I choose the side of TRUTH and I leave the lies to those who lack discernment. To want to cancel ANYONE is NUTS! Free speech means FREE SPEECH... we are not kids... we don't need anyone to declare their political persuasion, just as much as we don't need people to reveal their medical status... to suggest that privacy should be violated is not only infantile... it's dangerous... haven't we lost enough of our civil liberties and basic human rights in the last couple of years without you braying for the loss of more? Instead of asking everyone to co-opt into this gang or that gang, why don't you develop the level of discrimination needed to be able to discern what is based in truth and what debases the truth? To want to cancel anyone is not only madness, it means we can't see the fookers coming... Keep your cancel-culture, and shove it where the sun don't shine!
I am transleft. I was told I was right winger in highschool but I've always felt a leftist. I now identify as a neofascist billionaire and my pronouns are "give me your money now!" and "die already, you ignorant lumpenprole!".
