Well, I've never been on twitter and now I know why I never, ever will. As usual, thanks for the education in your intelligent, clear-as-day, humorous and no-nonsense style which I so appreciate.
I'm astounded that so many people are thrilled that Musk took over Twitter and have elevated him as the savior of free speech. He's an actor and a shyster. He's as much a proponent of free speech as there is a roadster floating around in outer space. Ridiculous! He is nothing but a pied piper put in place to lead more unsuspecting, blindly trusting people into the metaverse - into the black hole of meaningless, soul-sucking, time-wasting "social" media. They were duped by the COVID nonsense and now they are being duped by Musk.
God I love this. What a wonderful article. Twitter is for twits. Twitter is to the essay what Orson Wells was to pole-vaulting. Keep up the good work Jon.
It's difficult enough to discuss something of concern with people you know and care about, who sees things differently from you. Language is so malleable, that, forward movement in one direction or another becomes obscured by, as you say "a steaming pile of Twitter". In those instances you have the option to spend time and effort to correct the course with people also of that opinion. Even then, there can be irreparable damage done in the intercourse. I can see clearly now, from your article, why I never joined in the Twitter fray. Maybe I'm too thin skinned, even so, I don't have time to waste on this format of miss-communication. There has been enough train-wrecks, in my life, from just that. Again, it maybe just my inability to choose the right amount of mind softening words. This comment has its own steaming twitteresque element to it. lol.
Jon you manage to make me laugh and therefore keep me healthier! Thank you.

Epic! I dropped off "social media" two years ago completely.
Maybe 100 billion tweets can eclipse the works of Shakespeare in 10 years? Wonderful work as always Jon!

I'm permanently removed from Twitter. I said that Rachel Levine is a traitor to faggots everywhere. That's how I see it.
