I worked for the federal government 1975-1976. State Department, Agency for International Development, Contracts department. I was there as a secretary. I was bottom of the totem pole. There was a secretary over me who had been there for a long time. Her name was Loretta Moton..
My job consisted of typing up the contracts for A.I.D. This was before computers, so I had to use an electric typewriter.
My boss, Virginia Perelli, gave me a contract to type up. An hour later I was finished and turned it in and asked for another one. She gave me another one and I typed that up too. I carried on in this manner every day. It was the job.
Perelli seemed happy. She could not promote me fast enough.
Loretta took me aside and said You are working too fast. You are making the rest of us look bad. (the other secretaries).
This attitude mystified me and I ignored her and kept on working the way that I work.
Loretta's approach to work - make a 1-hour job take 2 weeks - is emblematic of the federal bureaucracy's work ethic.
I fully support mass layoffs of 75% of the federal workforce. They will not be missed.
@Victoria Hill, what is your proof of that statement? How do you know that Vivek Ramaswamy is trained by the WEF? Is he a Young Global Leader? What is your proof?
Well, I didn't know he recommended firing 75% of federal employees. That sounds like a fantastic idea. That said, I think he just says what people want to hear.
RosaryKnight: I don't know anyone who knows who Vivek even is. Hell, I don't even know how to spell his name. And what is normal in climbing in ratings?
All of this is off topic. All Jon is talking about in his article is how Vivek can have a successful campaign (and perhaps, upset the Big Boys.) I added the last phrase.
I hope it is at least peripheral to the topic. Or, as the 1973 SC abortion decision put it re- where a woman's right to abortion is in the Constitution, does my comment at least deal with "emanations from the penumbra" of the topic?
And re- the Big Boys ruling over us & over our politicians, if a candidate upsets them, they usually find their lives & livelihood seriously affected, & if one upsets them too much, they can find themselves in a tragic accident or some other unpleasant way of getting JFK'd.
"The best way to oppose the opposition is to be the opposition." - Josef Stalin
RosaryKnight: Yes, your comment is peripheral to the article. But you are putting the cart before the horse. Do you really think that Vivek threatens the Big Boys in any way?
If you think Jon R. is full of it to give Vivek campaign advice, just say so.
Personally, I don't vote or give a damn about elections.
What do you mean, "again"? I am a human being with an opinion about Vivek. Isn't this a "Comment Section"? Aren't you trolling the commenters here? Stop it.
Blaze Nathan: Rosary was changing the subject and so were you. The topic is about Vivek's campaign. Comparing Vivek to other candidates is another discussion.
Blaze Nathan: Have you noticed how a troll will come into a comment section and change the topic being discussed?
Over at another website today, the article was about the war atrocities going on in Gaza and Israel and the accompanying propaganda.
Next thing you know, people in the comments section are talking about pets being killed and the conversation turned to cats.
Cats!
Look, Blaze, you can comment on whatever you want. I really don't care. It was an experiment to see if I could steer comments back to Vivek's campaign.
He could film just how much revenue is generated from too many unnecessary work licenses. And how it causes the consumer pay far more than needed by this control mechanism place on unnecessary jobs. And how certification could replace them.
You know I used to like it. I was proud to be a licensed bonded and insured plumbing contractor. I did it. I went and studied THEIR material, passed their tests and was granted their license to do the work that I had already learned how to do. But it is their work. Because they control that specific industry based on Public Safety. And a plumbing company can do quite well financially even as a small business. The plumbers motto is, To Proctect the Health and Safety of the Nation. Boom, from the beginning they captured this industry. So now I'm at a loss with it all. Can't rightfully challenge it because it does directly effect the public. But I've always wanted it to be done privately, inspections and all. Licensing really increases what the end user pays. Mostly, I don't want your sorry ass permission to build my own little enterprises, of which you are not part of nor deserve.
Sean Garrisson: A free market would soon winnow out shoddy plumbers. I went to night school five days a week and then passed an oral, written, and practical exam(s) to get my aircraft mechanic licenses. I still learned almost 90% of how to fix planes while on the job.
Of course, with aviation the mechanic does the work right or people die. Same with pilots.
Also I guess it is still kind of a free market as long as you do your continuing education, pay all fees to them, do it as they say and if you are in Texas, now you must get FBI fingerprints and background checks into their data base to get or keep your license. Mine expired Sept 30th and I have no intention of ever renewing. Now I am just lost roaming the country. But lost isn't as bad as sell out loser to something I don't believe is right.
Sean Garrisson: That is BS about fingerprints and background checks for a plumber's license. My A & P (Airframe & Powerplant) licenses were for life. They don't expire. Maybe they do now. I don't know.
That's interesting a license that may not expire. Yeah 3 states in America are now doing the ol fbi service for the state to keep people safe bs. I don't believe it for a second. Especially in Texas because they are the Lone Star State, they don't need the federal government. And yet, they, of all of the states, are doing this to their own citizens. But hey, every proud Texan I talked to about the issue, either didn't want to talk about doing it or just acted like, of coarse we went and paid $40 to get FBI fingerprints and background checks to be in the FBI database. We respect government. Hahahaha.
I took a coarse is college a long time ago about what do you want to be when you grow up. It came back and said, Cake Decorator or Airplane Mechanic. And I once plumbed a dream cake decorators shop on her private property in Scottsdale where she was well known for making the most beautiful and creative cakes and they were. She made bank and even envited me to go to work for her because of that test in college. I didn't aspire to be an airplane mechanic then but that's changed. I. Could get into it I am very mechanically inclined. However I am an ultralight pilot because you don't need a license. Love flying.
Sean Garrisson: Fascinating! A good cake maker can make good money. They develop a loyal following.
My eyesight is 20/300 so being a pilot was never an option for me. After 25 years as a seaplane mechanic I began to do catering. The businesses are very similar. Both jobs are detail oriented and have to be done right.
Oddly enough, when I was a mechanic, one of the mechanics in the hangar would quit and do restaurant work for a year to two. Then he'd go back to being a mechanic.
He told me that the pay was about the same, but being a waiter required a lot fewer tools. The problem was that being a waiter was very physical and his body would wear out.
The only problem is getting bureaucrats to talk. They are blackmailed by the State because of their pensions and benefits.
If the State put out a memo to all current and retired government employees not to talk to any political candidate or lose their job and pension, the bureaucrats would obey the order like dogs.

tinarock: If you were in a campaign video with Vivek talking about your experience, would you lose your pension?
Hi Timmy, I would not lose anything, because I worked for A.I.D. for 18 months and moved away.
tinarock: What is A.I.D. ?
Agency for International Development.
tinarock: Thanks. AID is used to do coups in foreign countries, right?
Hi Timmy, I don't know anything about that. I was in the Contracts Department and typed up contracts.
this guy u r pushing is trained by the WEF...
#GetTheHOOK
@Victoria Hill, what is your proof of that statement? How do you know that Vivek Ramaswamy is trained by the WEF? Is he a Young Global Leader? What is your proof?
He sued to get his name taken off the list. I don’t know if his name was put there for a reason by someone else, or if it was intentional and he knew.
@Victoria, so I did the research you may not have done. I went to the website where you can look up all the WEF's Young Global Leaders, at
https://www.younggloballeaders.org/community
and I searched for Vivek Ramaswamy.
He is not listed.
So he is NOT a WEF YGL.
I did find a couple of articles about Vivek on the weforum website, but it was talking about his work. It did not say he was a motherWEFfer.
Victoria Hill: You are changing the subject. This is a troll tactic.
Well, I didn't know he recommended firing 75% of federal employees. That sounds like a fantastic idea. That said, I think he just says what people want to hear.
Unskooled: Which politician running for office doesn't tell people what they want to hear?
Vivek is just like Obama ... a creation of the Cabal, smooth-talking, says all the right things. And he is a WEF butt-boy.
And like Obama, appears out of nowhere & gets lots of press & climbs in the ratings faster than normal.
RosaryKnight: I don't know anyone who knows who Vivek even is. Hell, I don't even know how to spell his name. And what is normal in climbing in ratings?

What do you mean, "again"? I am a human being with an opinion about Vivek. Isn't this a "Comment Section"? Aren't you trolling the commenters here? Stop it.
Blaze Nathan: Rosary was changing the subject and so were you. The topic is about Vivek's campaign. Comparing Vivek to other candidates is another discussion.
Did Jon appoint you his monitor? You are censoring. Stop it.

Look, Blaze, you can comment on whatever you want. I really don't care. It was an experiment to see if I could steer comments back to Vivek's campaign.
I failed.
Experiment over.
Jon, I'd like to hear your advise to Dr. Shiva Ayyudurai's campaign manager.
Also, why do you think most podcasters seem to overlook him?
He could film just how much revenue is generated from too many unnecessary work licenses. And how it causes the consumer pay far more than needed by this control mechanism place on unnecessary jobs. And how certification could replace them.
Sean Garrisson: That is a good idea. Working people HATE getting licenses and permits and bonds just to be able to work.
You know I used to like it. I was proud to be a licensed bonded and insured plumbing contractor. I did it. There is always the underground gig economy.
