"The general state of writing these days is wretched." Which is why we need you around another 84 years. Keep up the incredible writing Jon. It keeps the rest of us mere mortals striving for better.

They tell us that centuries ago, not many people could read, and books were very expensive. Thus, they were slaves, poor and helpless.

These days most people can read, books are cheap, there are many mediums for reading anything, and yet they remain slaves, poor and helpless.

It seems the analysis of the past was wrong.

It seems that most will find a way to live how they want to live, and many prefer slavery and poverty. I am in the middle of trying to understand that.
